Are you prone to sea sickness? One of the best ways to prevent sea sickness is to start taking motion sickness medication 12 or more hours prior to sailing. Taking sea sickness medication an hour or two before boarding usually does not work. The best method is to start taking sea sickness medication the night BEFORE sailing. Take a full dose at bedtime, and then take another full dose when you wake up. If your trip is not until later in the afternoon, take a half does before boarding. The key is to allow enough time for the sea sickness medication to build in your system. Our recommendations for sea sickness medications are Bonine and Dramamine.
